Terms and conditions

By booking/employing our services you agree to the following terms and conditions:

  • IntimateDetail will not be held responsible for damage ( paint peel, poor stitching, previous repair, weak/broken water seals, etc) caused by wear and tear or poor previous repair. Areas of poor previous repair will be avoided, unless discussed with the customer upon inspection. Not all faults can be identified prior to work commencing, but any that is noted will be discussed with the customer as soon as possible and a course of action will be agreed. We cannot be held responsible for electrical or mechanical faults caused by water ingress. Whilst working in the engine compartment and around other systems on the vehicle we take great care not to force water into connections, ecu's, etc and we will only wet an engine bay to the point at which it was designed for, in the unlikely event water causes an electrical fault we will not be held responsible for rectifying the fault.
  • IntimateDetail may ask for a deposit of approximately 20-50% of a service to be paid upon booking to secure the slot. Once the time slot is agreed and booked the time may be changed up until 72 hours prior to the day of work via phone call. If you decide to cancel or amend your time slot 72 hours prior you will lose your deposit, unless another time is agreed. Deposits are non refundable, if you cancel your booking you loose your deposit. If you amend your booking prior to the 72 hour notice period, the deposit can only be used for work of the same value.
  • We are insured to drive and/or work on your vehicle at our unit, at your home or on public roads. Vehicles within our car are covered up to the value of £250,000, if your vehicle is of a higher value YOU MUST TELL US UPON BOOKING so we can make sure that adequate cover is in place, failure to do so may invalidate any claim. Personal possessions are not covered and are left in you vehicle at your own risk.
  • Cancellations or amending time slots after 72 hours prior to the day of work then you will forfeit your deposit and you will be expected to pay the full amount of the agreed service. If there is a genuine, proven excuse for changing a time, then we may be able to alter the time and day at the cost of your deposit. If a time and day cannot be agreed then you will be expected to pay for the agreed service in full. All deposits are non refundable.
  • Weather/Course of Nature. Having some mobile services, a large amount of our work is carried out outdoors at the mercy of the weather. Although we do have large portable workshops we may not always be able to use them in some cases such as, extreme weather, mid-strong winds, where there are no suitable anchor points, where there is not enough space, where the vehicle is to large. If this is the case then we will phone you on the day to re-arrange for the soonest convenient time.
  • Invoices must be paid upon completion. If you fail to pay for the agreed service then we have the right to withhold keys to the vehicle until the invoice is settled in full and the car will be stored in an outdoor secure compound at the cost of £20 per day. Failing to settle an invoice within 10 days of completion of our service will result in legal action being taken, no matter the amount owed and you will have to pay legal costs and out of pocket expenses. Repeat invoices carry a £20 administration fee. These invoices can only be sent electronically.
  • We do not hold customer information such as vehicle registrations/vin numbers. We may hold phone numbers and addresses in a secure file as required by the HMRC and any addresses and phone numbers in an electronic password protected diary.  Under no circumstances will IntimateDetail disclose any address, location, vehicle details or customer names. Any photographs used for advertising purposes will not disclose registration numbers, addresses or locations unless otherwise permitted by the customer. Our card payment terminal is a secure standalone system and we do not have access to your details once a transaction has been processed. We are PCI compliant for your security.
  • Personal belongings left inside a vehicle are left at your own risk. We may have to remove items to carry out our service. We will take no responsibility for missing/broken items.
  • Small change/money. Any coins or money not in suitable compartments are at the mercy of our vacuum cleaners. Any money found upon emptying our vacuum cleaners will be deposited in local charity box's.
  • Baby/child seats. Due to health and safety we will not remove child seats from a vehicle, however if the fitted seat stops us from carrying out our work then we may remove the seat but WE WILL NOT REFIT ANY CHILD SEAT back into a vehicle, we will leave it out of the vehicle, in the luggage area or upside down in the passenger compartment.
  • Comfort settings. Certain setting of a vehicle e.g. seat positions, mirror positions, heater settings, etc may be changed in any of our services. We do our best not to change these settings.
  • Brakes. In almost all of our exterior services if a vehicle has been washed then it is likely that water will have saturated the braking system behind the wheels. Please take caution when using the brakes after a detail has been carried out. Wet brakes once dried may temporarily seize, this will result in a small jolt and a clunk once the vehicle is moved, this is normal and any excess oxidization of the brakes will disappear once normal driving commences.
  • Mechanical tightening torque. If we have to remove mechanical components such as wheels, we will use the torque setting from the manufactures handbook for the appropriate torque settings. If this is not present we will call the manufacturer for the required setting. YOU MUST RE-TORQUE YOU'RE WHEEL BOLT/NUTS 100MILES AFTER COLLECTING YOUR VEHICLE! Failing to do this may cause a wheel to become loose, become damaged or detatch from the wheel hub.
